Wow! Guess what? I watched my first live basketball game today.
Not by choice though just by chance. Like I said in my previous I hate PE rant, my PE101 teacher required us to watch today’s Cheer Rally @ 4pm. But hunbun, Dianne, and I arrived at The Blue Eagle Gym around 5:30. Late as usual because we preferred sitting around the caf munching on pork siomai. *lol* When we got there, I immediately asked where I can get my PE slip ‘validated’. We were given tiny sheets of blue paper to be stamped there as proof of our attendance. The girl said they started the validation process after the Cheer Rally. Gosh! I though I could get away with not actually sitting through the whole program.
Oh, the gym was wall-to-wall people! Thanks to my ultra-pursuasive skills, we got good seats. I’ve got charm.
After the Cheery Rally was a special game: Ateneo Legends vs Ateneo Blue Eagles. Hunbun wanted to see it (mainly because its free) and it seemed like a good decision because the line for PE slip validation was ridiculously long. The audience were so hyped up especially for their favorite players. Dianne and I, acting like starstruck teens, also cheered and screamed like crazy. Our faves are Fonacier, Chia, and Gonzales.
The fight was a really really close one. The first few minutes alone were so exciting and fast-paced. Of course, some of the rookies were trying to strut their stuff. We kind of remarked that famous basketball players are so lucky because even if they’re not that good looking, girls swoon over them.
Popularity factor I guess?
Sometime during the game, Dianne and I bought some food from the Kenny Rogers stand: her box of muffins and my chocolate mousse. I loved the chocolate mousse! It was sweet and tasted just right. *yum* After 20 minutes, hunbun and I went down to check out the PE slip validation again. Yey! The line was not so long this time but still very thick though. Luckily I managed to squeeze through and get my slip stamped!
We decided to buy bottled water because all 3 of us were thirsty. I handed hunbun the chocolate mousse I was eating to pay for the drinks. When I asked for it back, hunbun gave me a blank stare then a really goofy grin. He actually threw my chocolate mousse in the trash can absentmindedly. It’s not even half-empty yet. Oh well! Speaking of half, the game’s half-time attraction was the Little Blue Babble Boys. They’re so cute!
Especially the chubby one because he had a hard time following the others - that made him extra adorable in my eyes.
P.S.: The Ateneo Blue Eagles won.
