A Royal Affair

Yesterday, hunbun and I went to Greenbelt Expo Exchange to check out the place for Celadon’s major concert party. We’re the logistic heads. It was much smaller than we expected and less grand. *hehe* Their make-shift backstage was so little that I doubt would accomodate all the models for the fashion show. And we couldn’t figure out where the artists (bands) would stay before the show itself. Well, I sure hope we find a way soon because this place is most probably the event’s venue already. Other venues we checked out were either too little or too expensive for our budget. The Ateneo’s college covered courts is another option but I am strongly against it. For me, being in a school atmosphere would not encourage people to buy tickets for the concert. *sigh* And we would attract less people from other schools to go. It’s just not a “party place”.

The core group had a short meeting at Jollibee afterwards. Hunbun and I bought hot fudge sundaes since we already had lunch at home. Hm.. I still prefer McDonald’s food. :bleh: We basically aired out our rants about the place, but nothing was settled yet.

It was about 3:30 in the afternoon and we had a lot of time to spare before Pinnochio the Musical which was to start exactly at 7:30pm. Hunbun and I went back to Greenbelt 3 to watch Princess Diaries 2: A Royal Engagement. We actually planned to catch the 3:55 showing but it was already sold out, so we ended up watching the 4:45 movie. Next time, I’ll reserve online at Ayala Sureseats. The movie was uber wonderful! It has so much kilig or swoon factor. Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine have an enormous on screen chemistry together. Princess Mia’s clumsiness is a plus factor too. It’s one of the best romantic comedies ever! I love the happily ever after feeling of the story and the girl power message. I want to be a princess. It’s a childhood dream of mine. Hm… since I already have my Prince Charming, all I need is a tiara to go with it. *hehe* Oh yeah, I need a fairy tale sounding land to rule over too.

Afterwards, we rushed to Greenbelt 1 again for Pinnochio. We were ushers. I’ve been an usherette dozens of times before, but this proved to be the most challenging assignment. There was an obvious shortage of ushers and the patrons were proving to be difficult to work with. They sat themselved into the wrong seats. And when asked to move, they got angry. I needed to explain over and over again that other people paid for those seats. One particular American mom got really frustrated because she paid Php400 for each ticket, when we were only selling those for Php250. She got ripped off and was pouring it out on me. I was already being helpful volunteering to be an usherette. I don’t need that kind of treatment!

Anyway, the musical was nice. I’d probably would have enjoyed it more if I weren’t accompanying people to their seats all the time. A lot of people were oh so fashionably late. I must have lost a few pounds running up and down the stairs. *lol* :bleh: And I had my picture taken with the Blue Fairy and Gipetto.

The musical ended around nine-ish. Hunbun and I had dinner at Soleil. It’s an upscale Italian restaurant, I think. I was drawn to its pristine white atmosphere. I ordered French Onion soup. Soups always have that soothing effect on me. Our food was yummy, but I don’t think we’re going back there again. *heh* I love spending quality time with my Prince Charming.

Rainy Day

I woke up at 7am, my usual routine on a Wednesday. But sunshine didn’t greet me this time, instead ominous-looking clouds filled up the sky. It was raining so hard that my mom was convinced we had no classes. I wasn’t though because the collegiate level rarely cancelled classes, but I was hoping really really hard. :bleh: We tuned in to the television for the latest updates. It turns out that most grade schools and high schools in Metro Manila had suspension of classes. Makes me want to go back to high school. *hehe* Around 7:40, as I was on the way to school, Ateneo officially cancelled classes on both grade school and high school levels. But no news yet on tertiary level. The streets were so flooded! Almost all were tire deep, and the rain still kept pouring. There was traffic everywhere. My driver knew a lot of shortcuts, but even those had bumper-to-bumper cars! *sigh* It was around 9 when we finally reached Katipunan. I was so late since my class started at 8:30. Oh well! Just when I was so close to arriving, the Sanggunian (Student Council of the Ateneo) sent me an SMS message that classes were suspended 9:30 onwards. That message confused me a lot. Does that mean that my Math class from 8:30-9:30 was still held? I don’t want to miss any of my Math classes. I hope that the teacher will discuss (if ever she did) again today’s topic.

Anyway, since we had no classes. Hunbun and I spent some quality time together. He brought me McDonald’s Big Breakfast! Yum! I was really craving one for the past few days. We watched My Tutor Friend, yet another Korean romance-comedy-action movie. It’s funny and really good! Hunbun and I are becoming addicted to Asian Films. *hehe*

Hm… Lately I’ve been receiving a lot of spam mail on my domain e-mail address. Seems like I’ve been winning lotteries from different countries left and right. Not to mention awards too. *lol* And a lot of important personalities are contacting me to help them make pseudo bank accounts. I’m getting a lot of business proposals and partnerships too. It’s obvious that they’re all fakes. *sigh* Why do people even bother to make these kinds of spam mails?

Lastly, thank you so much to Kel for being so wonderful!!! You’re an angel. She made me these beautiful linking buttons! Here they are.

TGIS

This morning, hunbun and I made the ultimate sacrifice. We woke up really early on a Saturday to volunteer to tutor public school kids. When we got to Kaingin Dos, we were surprised that there were a lot of kids. Good thing there were four tutors (me, hunbun, Jem, and Dianne) to handle this big a class. I’m more used to holding a study session for small groups. I feel the one-on-one atmosphere is more conducive to learning. But that’s not an option this time. I’m forced to use the board-and-chalk method. *sigh* We reviewed them on their basic mathematic and spelling skills. Sadly, they still have not mastered their multiplication table. And it’s really hard to hold their focus. Their attention span lasts no longer than 5 minutes. Even if my throat is a little soar from speaking loudly, it’s worth it. There’s something rewarding about helping others. It makes me feel good inside.

Afterwards, the four of us had lunch at World Topps. (Yummy mushroom soup and Salpisilog! *mmm*) Dianne and I wanted to watch A Cinderella Story. So we kept on convincing hunbun to drive us to Eastwood. Of course, he gave in to my persuasive powers. We were so underdressed because all of us were wearing really casual white shirts and jeans and rubber shoes. That’s the required outfit for tutors. Oh well, who’s going to notice?

In the parking lot, hunbun followed a couple to their car hoping that they were leaving. They did enter the car and guess what, they started making out. *lol* They were liplocking inside an untinted car at noon! We found that so amusing. Good thing they eventually left and we found a parking space. We immediately headed for the cinemas, but A Cinderella Story was not showing anymore. So we opted to watch the next best thing: Stepford Wives. Dianne and I found the trailers intriguing anyway. Oh, it’s our first time to watch a movie in Eastwood Cinemas. It’s really nice because of the reclinable chairs and removable arm rests. Hunbun and I had an instant love seat.

I like the uniqueness of the movie, even if it involves a little robotics. I want to live in Stepford, the houses are gorgeous, the families are blissful, the neighbors are nice, and the dresses are to die for. Who does not want perfection right? For that, I wouldn’t mind being a Stepford wife. :bleh: But the men there are geeky and don’t have any self-confidence at all. They’re all envious of their high-paying powerful wives. I guess there’s no such thing as a perfect life. And the woman who made the whole Stepford thing happen seems a little delusional, insane. *hehe*

Oh, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox. Some of my skins don’t look as good there. I’ll probably tweak them a little so they’re more browser friendly. Any suggestions how to change my CSS a little? And I’m plugging Hazel because she’s a sweetie!

Shop Blog

I’ve had a real stressful few days. *sigh* At leasts most of the long exams and midterms are over with. I’m so looking forward to some rest and relaxation tomorrow. Yehey for no classes due to Quezon City Day!

After school today, hunbun and I went to Greenhills for some shopping therapy (for me). I bought a lot of new stuff. *hehe* Hunbun bought me a pair of fuzzy pink slippers with butterflies from Watsons. Oh, I just couldn’t leave without buying that Precious Moments mousepad. Look at that yummy chocolate. It’s “Princesse forme enrobĂ©e” from Leonidas’ Chocolates. They have a specialty booth in The Shops and I couldn’t resist trying one of them. Who knew chocolates could be that expensive. And every little piece has its own gold box. Wow! That little itty bitty chocolate costs Php85.00! (Almost $2) But it’s so worth it. The taste is exquisite - a burst of flavor in your mouth. I’m addicted.

And mom gave me my credit card last Saturday. :bleh: It’s from Equitable PCI Bank. Now I can buy anything anywhere in the world. *hehe* I like the feeling of having emergency money. No more running out of cash. Last but not the least, thank you and lots of hugs to my commenters.
