TGIS

This morning, hunbun and I made the ultimate sacrifice. We woke up really early on a Saturday to volunteer to tutor public school kids. When we got to Kaingin Dos, we were surprised that there were a lot of kids. Good thing there were four tutors (me, hunbun, Jem, and Dianne) to handle this big a class. I’m more used to holding a study session for small groups. I feel the one-on-one atmosphere is more conducive to learning. But that’s not an option this time. I’m forced to use the board-and-chalk method. *sigh* We reviewed them on their basic mathematic and spelling skills. Sadly, they still have not mastered their multiplication table. And it’s really hard to hold their focus. Their attention span lasts no longer than 5 minutes. Even if my throat is a little soar from speaking loudly, it’s worth it. There’s something rewarding about helping others. It makes me feel good inside.

Afterwards, the four of us had lunch at World Topps. (Yummy mushroom soup and Salpisilog! *mmm*) Dianne and I wanted to watch A Cinderella Story. So we kept on convincing hunbun to drive us to Eastwood. Of course, he gave in to my persuasive powers. We were so underdressed because all of us were wearing really casual white shirts and jeans and rubber shoes. That’s the required outfit for tutors. Oh well, who’s going to notice?

In the parking lot, hunbun followed a couple to their car hoping that they were leaving. They did enter the car and guess what, they started making out. *lol* They were liplocking inside an untinted car at noon! We found that so amusing. Good thing they eventually left and we found a parking space. We immediately headed for the cinemas, but A Cinderella Story was not showing anymore. So we opted to watch the next best thing: Stepford Wives. Dianne and I found the trailers intriguing anyway. Oh, it’s our first time to watch a movie in Eastwood Cinemas. It’s really nice because of the reclinable chairs and removable arm rests. Hunbun and I had an instant love seat.

I like the uniqueness of the movie, even if it involves a little robotics. I want to live in Stepford, the houses are gorgeous, the families are blissful, the neighbors are nice, and the dresses are to die for. Who does not want perfection right? For that, I wouldn’t mind being a Stepford wife. :bleh: But the men there are geeky and don’t have any self-confidence at all. They’re all envious of their high-paying powerful wives. I guess there’s no such thing as a perfect life. And the woman who made the whole Stepford thing happen seems a little delusional, insane. *hehe*

Oh, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox. Some of my skins don’t look as good there. I’ll probably tweak them a little so they’re more browser friendly. Any suggestions how to change my CSS a little? And I’m plugging Hazel because she’s a sweetie!

HAHAHA. They were making out in the car? LOL. They could have just done that while they were in the movie theater or something. Crazy kids. I’m glad that they left and you found your parking space though. A Cinderella Story would have a cute movie for you to watch, but Stepword Wives is also equally entertaining. I enjoyed watching that movie. Well, take care! P.S. You’re a tutor! How sweet to the little kids.

wow what a very thoughtful thing to do to help out like that  .. the thing about that couple in the car`s funny, must`ve been really surprising that instead of leaving they started doing that instead.. but at least you got the parking spot & enjoyed your movies. anyway, have a good day today & hopefully you got the e-mail from a few days ago with the buttons for you. godbless. later dayz

it does feel good when you help others, especially kids, right? however, it’s really true that most kids from public schools nowadays are having a hard time learning. :( that’s sad.

Yeah Stepford Wives was a good movie! Not a blockbuster though hehe! Anyway, I had a great time with Boo! We even bought a new wallet for her which for me is a great investment! As for Kaingin, well, I guess teaching is ok. I spent a lot of time helping out the students get their pictures though! Well, one incident was a little weird though. We bought a mineral water from the people there and the bottle cap was a little loose. We felt that it was refilled only. So we used it to wash our hands! Haha! :haha: Anyway, the day turned out well even if I wasn’t that well dressed! Like Bunch said, we just wore white shirts and jeans. I’m just glad she was able to buy new pants! yehey! Let’s shop again next time love!
