Rainy Day
I woke up at 7am, my usual routine on a Wednesday. But sunshine didn’t greet me this time, instead ominous-looking clouds filled up the sky. It was raining so hard that my mom was convinced we had no classes. I wasn’t though because the collegiate level rarely cancelled classes, but I was hoping really really hard.
We tuned in to the television for the latest updates. It turns out that most grade schools and high schools in Metro Manila had suspension of classes. Makes me want to go back to high school. *hehe* Around 7:40, as I was on the way to school, Ateneo officially cancelled classes on both grade school and high school levels. But no news yet on tertiary level.
The streets were so flooded! Almost all were tire deep, and the rain still kept pouring. There was traffic everywhere. My driver knew a lot of shortcuts, but even those had bumper-to-bumper cars! *sigh* It was around 9 when we finally reached Katipunan. I was so late since my class started at 8:30. Oh well! Just when I was so close to arriving, the Sanggunian (Student Council of the Ateneo) sent me an SMS message that classes were suspended 9:30 onwards. That message confused me a lot. Does that mean that my Math class from 8:30-9:30 was still held?
I don’t want to miss any of my Math classes. I hope that the teacher will discuss (if ever she did) again today’s topic.
Anyway, since we had no classes. Hunbun and I spent some quality time together.
He brought me McDonald’s Big Breakfast! Yum! I was really craving one for the past few days. We watched My Tutor Friend, yet another Korean romance-comedy-action movie. It’s funny and really good! Hunbun and I are becoming addicted to Asian Films. *hehe*
Hm… Lately I’ve been receiving a lot of spam mail on my domain e-mail address. Seems like I’ve been winning lotteries from different countries left and right. Not to mention awards too. *lol* And a lot of important personalities are contacting me to help them make pseudo bank accounts. I’m getting a lot of business proposals and partnerships too. It’s obvious that they’re all fakes. *sigh* Why do people even bother to make these kinds of spam mails?
Lastly, thank you so much to Kel for being so wonderful!!! You’re an angel. She made me these beautiful linking buttons! Here they are.
Edit on August 26, 2004: Man, two days in a row! I was already on the way to school when they announced a suspension of classes.
Anyway, more bumming around and movie watching for me and hunbun. We watched Dance With The Wind. Yup, another Korean movie. It’s about ballroom dancing. We also watched Butterfly Effect. What an awesome psychological movie!
Thinking about it, I wouldn’t change anything in my past if the consequences were that great. *sigh* Sometimes you just can’t have everything you want, no matter how hard you try.

The same thing happened to me yesterday… I arrived at school around 920, and as soon as I reached Gate 3, the sign ” NO CLASSES: COLLEGE” greeted me.
I commuted for 2 hours, only to learn that classes are suspended. Argh.

it rains sporadically here throughout the year, but we never really have typhoons. i remember how typhoons were in the phils though.
i loved suspension of classes and then going home to just sleep all day… ingatz!

Hahah, ang swerte, you had no classes on Wednesday. We still had classes despite of the rain and the strong winds. But it was fun
Although all students didn’t have classes today. I agree, I don’t get why people send spam mail. They’re the stupid ones because people aren’t stupid enough to open those emails. Lol. Take care!

Kolehiyala is a nice term? Hahaha!! It’s my friendster occupation! XD; *daldal*
:/ hmm.. My dad says that Chocoball’s a mixed breed. I say he’s an “askal” that’s oh-so-clean and cute. Aww, whatever he is, I’ll love him anyway~ (though I really prefer cats!) Besides, we’re not that rich to own dogs with breed! XD; magastos yun sa food… Hehehe…

Lol. I woke up late yesterday so it was a lucky thing that they suspended classes.
People send spam like that because some idiots fall for it. It’s sad, but true. *shrugs*

I don’t know why people make up spam mails either. I’m guessing they have attached files to the email to get into your system because it’s just too crazy for them to spend so much time on a bogus email that won’t really do anything but annoy the person on the receiving end. Unless, of course, they get some sort of sick pleasure from the fact that they know that people will get pissed off. LOL. That’s awesome that you guys got class cancelled. Not awesome, under the circumstances — the flooding and all. Well, take care!
