Almost Christmas

Christmas is this Saturday already! I can’t believe it’s only two days away and that it’s been too many days since I last posted. *lol* (If you want) You can catch up on some of the happenings in my life in Inseparable - our joint blog. Hunbun and I have each written one entry. Yup, that’s how busy this holiday season has been. :bleh:Yays, Boos, and Awwws” by me and “Christmas Vacation At Long Last” by hunbun. Well, hunbun has just gone to their family’s annual out of town trip. He’s in Baguio right now and won’t be back until December 26. I miss him so much already. And I’ll be having a dental surgery to take out one of my wisdom teeth tomorrow. I’m not that nervous surprisingly. *lol* It’s just too bad I won’t get to each all the yummy holiday meals for a little while.

Last week was the final stretch before the official Christmas break. Of course, the teachers gave their usual long exams. The Physics one was especially tough. I was uber convinced that I was going to fail but thank goodness I passed with an awesome grade. And our professor was really considerate that he gave bonus points during our next meeting. Yay! I never actually thought of him as the generous type. *lol* On Wednesday (December 15, 2004), my groupmates in CS122 and I went to an informal meeting with my brother. We’re making a database program for his jewelry business, Venice Creation. Our meeting was extended very late into the evening because we needed complete information in order to start with our requirements analysis. That part of the project will be submitted on January 5, 2005. I hate Christmas homework!

Last Friday, December 17, 2004, I rewarded myself with a day of fun, relaxion, and shopping. :haha: I went with JV, Marge, and Cla to Eastwood. We had lunch at a Japanese restaurant inside the Cybermall. The food though was not at par with my taste. *lol* We then watched Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Hunbun was running quite late but still managed to catch the movie. It’s such a chick flick and very boring in the most part. Even the childish fight scene between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth seemed odd. I really got weirded out when Renee became a Thai prisoner. Hmm… I think I prefer the first Bridget Jones’ Diary. Afterwards we split ways because they were returning to Ateneo. Hunbun and I strolled around the mini-city for a few minutes and I picked up Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons at A Different Bookstore. We then went to Greenhills for more shopping. I got a new optical mouse with scrolling feature. Hunbun bought a USB hub for me because I have too many USB devices and only 2 USB ports! That night, we were supposed to attend Kaingin’s Christmas party but we decided to go with my family instead. We went to my uncle’s restobar opening in Metrowalk, Pasig. It’s entitled Phi. Yes, it’s that golden number and divine proportion popularized by the Da Vinci Code. It’s a really nice place but I’m not the bar-going type. *hehe* Just the smoke itself turns me off. Anyway, we had Ice Monster for dessert and even went to David’s Tea House for a midnight snack - actually it’s 2am when we got there.

On Tuesday, hunbun went to our hardware store with me. I had a lot of paperwork to handle so I had hunbun help me a little. *hehe* Those are the perks of having a sweet boyfriend. He brought his laptop along and made me watch Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War. It’s a war film which he deemed even better than Saving Private Ryan, which I never even bothered to watch. It’s about two brothers and how their lives were ultimately changed by their experiences in war. I admit the plot was nice but the whole appreciation for war movies I still don’t comprehend. They’re just special effects, gore, bloodshed, and violence all rolled into one. When we got home, we watched another DVD. This time a Korean chick flick entitled The Classic. It is such a touching story and made me cry a lot! I love the comparison and contrast of past and present events. I especially love the very mushy ending.

Yesterday, hunbun and I went to Podium for very last minute Christmas shopping. We arrived there at about 9pm giving us only an hour to buy presents for a lot of people. We went to Watsons for mommy’s extra gift from me, hunbun, and my aunt. We bought her favorite Kanebo face powder and a fuschia pink lipstick. (Extra because I already got her a yummy chocolate rum cake, same with hunbun’s mom.) We also bought for the maids each a very pretty set of hair accessories worth Php100.00. Then we rushed to Adidas to buy a gym bag for my brother. Along the way, we met a lot of celebrities such as Kris Aquino and her mom, Cory Aquino, Claudine Baretto, Marjorie Baretto, and Reymart Santiago. Hunbun and I had our “Christmas dinner” at UCC. We ordered our all-time favorite entrees there: Hamburg curry for him, garlic seafood spaghetti for me, and pane alle ciocollata for us. I had a very very wonderful time with hunbun but I lost the silver necklace my eldest brother gave me for Christmas. *sigh* Oh yeah, my Christmas gift for him is the Lord of the Rings - Return of the King Special Extended DVD Collection.

Our hardware held its annual Christmas party today. It’s simpler than the previous years because of the cost-cutting measures. All the workers and secretaries still had fun though. Achie Joan, my brother’s girlfriend, gave me my Christmas presents. Those roses are actually paper soaps. Really cute and ingenious! I want to buy some myself to give my friends. She also gave me a collectible Precious Moments princess doll. It’s in the middle. The two other Precious Moments dolls she gave me on my 18th debut. Both are in shades of lilac because it’s my favorite color.

Thank you so much to all those who appreciated my new Hello Kitty theme. And thank you to my online friends who gave me very lovely Christmas gifts. I appreciate them so much. Advance merry Christmas to all of you!
