Summer’s Over

Thanks to Hazel, Aneesah, Theresa, Psycho, Xtel, and Iruka for leaving comments in my guestbook. I really appreciate them. And I finally made an image gallery. Visit Memories.

I took a break from working at our store on Thursday, April 7, 2005. Hunbun and I spent quality time together since he is going to start his OJT (on the job training) soon. We ate lunch at Italiannis in Green Hills. It’s a nice cozy place which also happened to be very expensive. *hehe* Good thing I had a Php500.00 gift certificate left over from last Rose Sale 2005. I loved the unlimited yummy bread dipped in black vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. *mmmm* We were interrupted though by hunbun’s cell phone. It was his superior in Software Ventures International (SVI) confirming his job. *yay* We shopped a bit afterwards and watched Hide and Seek. It came across somewhat like The Village - which I really really regret watching. But this psychological movie was better. Of course, it didn’t hurt that I’m a fan of Dakota Fanning.

April 9, 2005 was “Araw ng Kagitingan”. It is a national holiday commemorating the fall of Bataan in April 9, 1942, when Filipino and American troops reduced to near helplessness by hunger, disease, and numerous casualties, and under heavy aircraft and artillery shelling from the invading Japanese forces laid down their arms and surrendered, after months of defending their last stronghold. (Source: WOW Philippines ) Since it was a day off, I convinced my mom to go to PowerPlant. :bleh: Hunbun and my aunt came along too. I bought a pair of very pretty black stilettos and a gorgeous white bag. We stopped by Milky Way for a snack. Surprising, they had very delicious barbeque spare ribs. We even took some home. *hehe* That night, I “spring cleaned” my closet. With the help of 3 maids and hunbun, I was able to part with the clothes (plus bags and accessories) that I rarely use. I had a hard time giving them up. Well, at least now I have more room for new clothes!

The following Sunday, we celebrated the first birthday of my cousin’s son Myles. One of my brothers then invited us to try out the new ACE hydro spa. I immediately called hunbun if he’d like to come since it’ll be more fun with him around. I’m glad he went with us because I enjoyed and loved the hydrospa experience. They offer a lot of amenities including the regular swimming pool and floating stream. They had various underwater hydro massages, each one focusing on a particular part of your body. It was really relaxing especially the hot herbal pools. Although I won’t ever go near the ice cold pool again. *eep* We were all extremely hungry afterwards since we stayed there for about 3 hours. They all had dinner but hunbun and I had to refrain from eating too much because we still had to go to a dinner party at Blue Bacon and Green Eggs for his brother’s birthday. After dinner, Hunbun and I lingered at the restaurant’s quaint little cafe. We ordered a tiny Haagen Daaz Belgian Chocolate ice cream and shared it. We went on a memory trip reminiscing the early days of our relationship. *awwww*

April 11, 2005 was grade distribution day and hunbun’s first day at work. I was extremely delighted with my 4.0 QPI. *showers everyone with confetti* For lunch, Marge, JV, Cla, James, J, and I ate at McDonalds. We’re scrimping obviously. Then, all of us (minus Marge) went to Shangri-La Plaza to watch Sahara. It was an okay movie - not one of my favorites. *hehe* Hunbun fetched me there at around 6pm. I surprised him with yummy Starbucks food.

The next day was summer class registration. The new procedure was extremely unsuccessful! I spent the entire day just waiting for my random number and being a proxy for hunbun. I had to go back on Wednesday to pay hunbun’s tuition fee since the cashier already closed at 4pm. *sigh* Thursday was the very first day of summer school. Goodbye rest and relaxation. Well, It went okay except the load revision part because I had to go from one building to another. *hehe* I changed my Introduction to Sociology and Anthropology section.

Cherubelle

I’ve officially moved to my new domain! And I love the name I chose. I coined the word months ago and finally decided to register a new domain name. Cherubelle sounds so sweet and feminine. Its perfect for me because its a fusion of my real name and nick name. And hunbun just told me that “belle” means beautiful in French. *awww* Of course, I still have the angel (cherub) factor. Goodbye and lots of love to Cherub-wings.net! It’s expiring on April 14, 2005.

I haven’t made a lot of changes to my journal though. I’m going to upgrade it to WordPress 1.5 and create new themes soon. Inseparable is proudly WordPress 1.5 and moved too. And I’ve revamped my guestbook. It’s so much prettier now! Go and leave me a message here.

Last March 21, 2005, hunbun and I attented Kaingin’s Surprise Senior Party at Chari’s house. It was really nice having a get together. And the video presentation they made for the graduating seniors was so thoughtful! I wish mine would be as special. *hehe* Actually, the Celadon Ball was held that night too. But we already gave our word to the Kaingin organizers. Too bad we had to miss the ball again - two years in a row! The next night, hunbun and I went to Podium to watch Miss Congeniality 2. It was unlike us to watch a last full show by ourselves and on a Tuesday! :haha: Before the movie, we had a light snack at Crepes and Cream. They have yummy yummy desserts.

My cousin Rupert from Hong Kong arrived and invited us all to celebrate his birthday with him. We, along with my mother-side relatives, had dinner on March 23, 2005 at Kamayan. It was eat-all-you-can but I preferred to order a la carte. Mainly because the food displayed weren’t appetizing at all and the selection was quite small. But it was great catching up with my cousins. Hunbun actually bonded with my guy cousins. *lol* And we even bumped into his dad there. Coincidence, huh?

On Maundy Thursday, I had oral surgery - my upper left impacted tooth pulled out. That meant no solid food for Gretch for a while. Actually, the inflammation was not so bad at first. But I made it worse, a lot worse! *sigh* My cheek was much better on Saturday so hunbun and I invited Rupert to watch Hitch with us. It was showing in the Premier Theater of Shangri-La Plaza which offered unlimited popcorn and drinks. Being the popcorn addict that I am, I stuffed myself with barbeque popcorn with an open wound in my mouth. That made my cheek inflame incredibly. And I had to be treated with expensive antibiotics just to get the swelling down. My dentist said that some popcorn kernel must have found its way into the open wound. That’s definitely a lesson learned…

Much of these last two weeks had been either spent in bed because I was sick or helping out at our store. So hunbun and I rediscovered my old PlayStation 1. :bleh: I have a cute Hello Kitty block game hunbun gave me a long time ago. It was fun playing games. *hehe* We also occupied ourselves with watching movies - a lot of them. “A Moment to Remember” is a very romantic and sentimental Koren movie. I cried buckets of tears watching it. I actually didn’t plan of watching “Kill Bill” because it really didn’t appeal to me. Well, it’s a very oriental movie with a really weird plot. Too much senseless killings. I loved O-Ren Ishii but I hated Black Mamba. “CCS 2″ was lent to me by Jaime and I loved it! It’s such a sweet story especially the love between Kinamoto Sakura and Syaoran Li. “The Terminal” is another of Spielberg’s masterpieces. The whole movie just captures you with the extraordinary storyline. Hm… The best thing of watching these is spending time with hunbun.
