Summer Vacation Part 2

On May 12, 2005, my brother and I celebrated late mother’s day with of course, my mommy! Hunbun and my aunt were there too. We ate at my favorite Korean resturant, Kaya, in Podium. “Gahm-sah-hahm-ni-da” (thank you) to the incredibly wonderful staff there. We then window shopped a little and ended up in Living Well - which apparently is the local version of Crate & Barrel. With the a little coercing from me, my brother and I bought pristine white Sleepcare anti-allergy, anti-bacterial pillow and comforter. I’ve been wanting those for a while now since I’m incredibly sensitive to dust mites and the like.

The next day was Friday the 13th and au contraire to most, I had a wonderful day! :bleh: That afternoon about 4pm, Dianne and I met up at Rizal Library. We went to Mag:Net to check out their beautiful ethnic-inspired earrings and spend time catching up on each other’s lives at the upstairs cafe. We split an overpriced salad and I ordered fresh mango shake. After a lot of girl talk, Dianne noticed Jessica Zafra, her writing inspiration. Coincidentally, Jessica Zafra was having a Tw7sted book signing there. *lol* Dianne bought one and had it autographed. We then passed by Rustan’s Supermarket and waited for our ride in her nearby dormitory. Hunbun and his cousin fetched us there at around 7:30pm. All four of us headed to Eastwood, met up with hunbun’s childhood friend, had dinner at Ebisu, and watched In Good Company. The movie was so-so and it left me really hanging with the ending. But all in all, I had a great time! It was fun mixing girl’s night out and boy’s night out.

The boys slept over at hunbun’s house so understandably hunbun fetched me a wee bit late. Actually, a lot late! :bleh: We had a dentist’s appointment and since I have very chapped lips, my dentist gave me a little pot of cocoa butter lip balm. It smells incredibly yummy - I just had to share that! *lol* Afterwards, I had lunch at QC with the boys. Hunbun and I had a little alone time finally and stayed at his house for a while. We ended up having a nap there. *awww*

I had no classes on May 19, 2005 since I got an A-exemption in FIS. That was certainly an unexpected surprise! Friday the 20th was my father’s 8th death anniversary. I accompanied my brother and mom to the temple. We brought along some food offerings, lit incense, and send our loving prayers. I hope he is happy in the afterlife… Then, my brother and I passed by the bank to settle some bank matters. *hehe* He also drove me to JV’s house where our SA21 group was meeting for the ethnography final project.

On May 21, 2005, I had brunch with Jen and Steph at Heaven And Eggs, a new country restaurant with an angel motif which i love! And the servers all have little tranlucent wings. We haven’t met for at least a year since the debut season ended. It was great to have girl time with high school friends. Too bad Vassy wasn’t there. I’m feeling a bit sentimental about high school right now. *sigh* Anyway, hunbun and I arrived at JV’s house again at 2pm. I worked on the project while he enjoyed the “guy game room” at the attic. :bleh: We finally finished that project yesterday - May 24, 2005. And I’m finally starting summer vacation part 2!

Lounging at home sounds sooo good!

Looking Forward to Weekends

Summer school so far has been okay. It’s turning to out to be more demanding than I expected though. I only have 2 subjects but both of them are keeping me busy. SA21 requires a lot of paperwork and group projects. Good thing I can rely on my responsible groupmates. *hehe* FIS is not that difficult as a class itself actually but my teacher makes the quizzes incredibly hard! Especially with the right minus wrong test types. At least both of my teachers give a lot of freecuts!

My computer suddenly broke down on me a couple of weeks ago. And just when I was getting the ending I wanted with Princess Maker 2. *sigh* I recently got it fixed at PC Express, Gilmore branch. It turns out that the power died and my video card was burned. Of course, I had to have them replaced which cost me quite a bit. Oh well, at least I have my beloved desktop back. But I’m using hunbun’s laptop now since I can access my brother’s wifi through it. Yay for free internet! *heh*

Since hunbun and I are both really busy on weekdays, we make our weekends special. On April 22, 2005, hunbun surprised me with this lovely bouquet of flowers since “he loves me”. *lol* That’s verbatim! He bought the arrangement from Holland Tulips in Podium after he had a dinner out with his officemates. As far as I can remember, this is my first ever bouquet with assorted flowers. *hehe* My boyfriend really does spoil me a lot.

Our 6th love anniversary together fell on a Sunday, April 24, 2005. Yes, we’ve been a couple for 6 whole years now! Time flies so fast when you’re in love. And I can’t imagine anyone more perfect to share the rest of my life with than hunbun. *awww* We spent the day relaxed and just enjoyed our time with each other. About 3 in the afternoon, hunbun came over and gave me a gorgeous bouquet of 3 dozen roses (or 6 half-dozens for our 6 years of love *hehe*). We then headed to the new Gateway Mall which I’ve never been to before. But it was way too crowded for our liking that even its 450 square meter open-air interior garden called “The Oasis” couldn’t convince us otherwise. So hunbun and I opted to go to a Starbucks branch near Greenhills for a snack. We also bought our gift for each other at a Precious Moments store nearby. We added to our collection the “All Girls are Beautiful” figurine set. This includes a Japanese emperor and empress with three flower arrangements. Isn’t it precious?
