Work and Play
These last few weeks are my own series of unfortunate events. Things haven’t been going my way at all! I feel so overwhelmed with academic and extra-curricular demands. And I’m feeling incredibly overworked with too little sleep.
I want a day of pampering and shopping! Well, as I’ve been busy, there’s lots of things to write about. *hehe*
Last August 6, 2005, hunbun and I went on a date at Power Plant. I found the most gorgeous pair of high heels at Sole & Co.! It was the only pair in my size and on sale too!
I think the pictures do not serve it justice because they do not showcase its glittery beadwork. Afterwards, we had dinner at Kaya where hunbun gorged himself with kimchi. *lol* We also watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was a very eccentric movie but really visually entertaining. All that chocolate looked so delicious! Although there were some parts that seemed disturbing, it was just a children’s movie on the value of family - at least that’s the lesson I got.

My Auntie Monette celebrated her birthday the next night in Phi Bar and Restaurant, Metrowalk. Oh, I wore my new shoes!
The party served as a family reunion and was really nice. I loved the salpicao! And good thing hunbun made it as he was stuck doing a project the whole day. Too bad we didn’t get to dance though. I really miss dancing. *hehe*
CompSAt’s first general assembly was on August 12, 2005 (Friday). It started from 4:30pm all the way to 8:30pm. The title was “Ohana” with a Hawaiian theme. I actually forgot to dress up for the event but good thing the blouse I wore that day was tropical-ish.
There were lots of actitivies prepared and it was really fun! That day was especially memorable for me because of the ‘unfortunate’ event I had. The button on my capri pants fell out. Wah! And it happened exactly before I had to roleplay in our EB presentation. I was supposedly the “new girl” of the protagonist. *lol* Thanks so much to Kris for saving the day with her safety pin! Afterwards, hunbun and I headed to Eastwood to buy the shoe he has been eyeing for quite some time. It looks so good on him!
On August 13, 2005, mommy, san-e, hunbun, and I headed to Podium to watch Bewitched. It was a typical feel good movie, happy ending and all, but still nice to watch nonetheless. Nicole Kidman looked so beautiful as Isabel Bigelow. And I’d love to have her witch powers.
Our CS152 lab was allotted for defense time on August 16, 2005. While waiting, my blockmates and I played Jack the Killer. It was a really fun bonding session. *hehe* That night, I busied myself in making all 48 standees for Celadon Major Food Sale. But I was just informed that the date was officially moved so I have to change them all again.
Anyway, the next day was The Day of Flowers.
Friday (August 19, 2005) was Quezon City Day so no classes, yay! But it wasn’t a rest day for me since my history project mates and I have to finish our research paper. Our paper is entitled “Terno: Expression of Filipina Fashion and Her Culture”. I spent the entire day from 8:30am to 1:00am with Steph and Raqi. We ate lunch at Max’s House of Fried Chicken care of Steph’s mom. It was my first time there since I’m allergic to chicken. *heh* For merienda, dinner, and midnight snacks, we were spoiled by auntie’s yummy cooking! Not to forget, much love and thanks to my hunbun for fetching me at Steph’s house at 1 in the morning.
Earlier today, hunbun and I went to Kaingin Area - tutoring less fortunate kids. It’s our first for this semester. We picked a good day to go because there were lots of Intact freshmen who taught the kids for us. We were basically on a supervise status. And I felt really good when my previous kids still recognized me.
We ate lunch with Kaingin people at World Topps.
[EDIT on August 22, 2005: I forgot to write that I received an invitation from Globe Telecom for my OJT. Yay!]

Isn’t it true that Nicole couldn’t really wriggle her nose as well as the girl in the original bewitched? Then again, it wasn’t really much of a remake of the show.
I adore your shoes!

Hi!! Ooh I love your new shoes! (plans to steal them
) just kidding! I can’t really do that. Hehe. I just watched CACF last night and I loved it! And I did crave for chocolates afterwards. Hehe. And about the safety pin, it reminds me so much of the skirt of SJ. When I was in grade school it happened to me often. Haha. Oh well.. College must really be stressful. I wish you all the luck! TC!! =)

Those slippers look lovely. It is very hard to find slippers that nice in Singapore, or is it because I have very specific instructions on how I like my footwear to be?
Yikes, it will be good to keep a small “emergency” sewing kit on hand in such cases, especially before a performance or an important event!

But lucky you for finding a nice pair of sandals your size, and most importantly, on sale! Yipee! Thanks for the comment. I’m glad my hun and I are surviving the tough times. Hope kayo rin ng hunbun mo :)

Gorgeous new shoes! I love shoe shopping.. I think I do too much of it, lol.
I saw that movie too.. It is a bit odd but good. I just found it creepy how smooth and pale their skin was, lol.
