Mid-Autumn Stress Season
Life has been nothing but a blur lately. I can’t believe it already a month since I last had an entry! Teachers have been cramming everything (emphasis on everything) in the last few weeks of the semester!
It’s been projects, long tests, orals, defenses, presentations, and exams left and right! I feel incredibly stressed out. Not to mention, I’m so anxious and worried because I might not be able to reach the Dean’s List cut off. *sniff* I don’t want my record to break. It’s really getting harder and harder each semester; or maybe I just got the wrong teachers! Tough luck.
I actually had a hard time remembering all the events in the last four weeks. *hehe* It’s like a part of me has been cut off from the world.
Oh, this is going to be an extremely long post. Last September 4, 2005, we had a family get together and “Pua Dong Chiu” (dice game). It also served as the send off party for my auntie who just finished her chemotheraphy. It was really really fun bonding with everybody and the prizes were great! Everyone pitched in for the food and dinner was delicious! I love the Mid-Autumn Festival season! The next few days are Nata Appreciation Days! *lol*
On September 10, 2005, hunbun and I were both busy with our respective projects. We were both in Seattle’s Best along Katipunan though.
It’s a really nice place for group projects especially with the availability of outlets and yummy (cookies and cream) drink. Too bad there’s always lots of people there. *hehe* JV and I were making the first and second deliverable for CS123. Afterwards, hunbun and I had lunch in Kenny Rogers next door. It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten there; I remembered it was because the food was so-so. We were uncomfortably so full afterwards. *lol*
The next day, mom made me come with her to a Pua Dong Chiu organized by her association. It was at some weird restaurant in Ongpin. The restaurant was so cramped and small. Everyone was in a frenzy when we arrived. The tables weren’t set up yet and the prizes were still in their boxes. *sigh* The evening just went downhill from there. Mom and I didn’t win much prizes - well, the prizes weren’t that good anyway. Dinner was inclusive so we had no choice but to each there. Oh well!
On September 12, 2005, my history professor required us to go to “The Great Ambeth Ocampo Show” as he so aptly put it. Surprisingly, I really liked the lecture. It was realy funny and enlightening too. Everything he discussed was common-sensical and shed much light into my knowledge of the Philippine national heroes: Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio. Our grade school teachers were so so so wrong!
Anyways, on September 15, 2005, hunbun and I bought tickets for the dice game of Celadon entitled “Once in a Blue Moon”. I tried my luck dicing and got two “Magic Slates” - one for hunbun and one for myself.
Yay! The next day was the game proper. But before that, I got dragged into helping out at a CompSAt-sponsored IT Forum. I even dressed up in proper formal attire but the event was a flop because the teachers did not require their students to attend. *tsk tsk* The speaker was great though even if he was talking about a boring topic. Afterwards, hunbun and I rushed to Cervini Field since both of us volunteered to be facilitators. We set up our tables, counted the prizes, and did all the assigned tasks amidst all the yucky mud! The official start was around 6pm. I was quite lucky because I won the prizes I wanted: shake-charging flashlight, purple water bottle, and magic calculator (which I think doesn’t work properly), and other small things. I actually diced a “chiong wan” (first prize) but it got stolen away from me. *sigh* It was my first time rolling that combination too! Hunbun and I had dinner at QC that night. We had our usual plus a black and white ice cream. Yum! I love the chilled whipped cream they added. We also watched the Discovery Channel’ special where the experts predicted the evolution of future animals. Man was supposedly living in the moon and other planets by then. It was very interesting to say the least.
September 19-23, 2005 was the week of Fusion: major food sale - my project. I’m not sure if we made much profit but the good was generally good! I actually liked them.
Oh, I also ate a whole lot of coffee jelly that week. They were being sold by the Celadon dessert stall. Yum! On the 22nd, I was assigned as the manager for the day. Hunbun was so sweet and helped me set up the tent. The sales was good that day and most of the viands were sold out. That afternoon, Steph and I planned our history presentation and even later that night, JV and I did our CS123 project at home. The following 2 days, Neill and I worked on our CS152 final lab at home too. Oh, hunbun and I had a Little Date.
September 27, 2005 was an incredibly eventful day - not in a good way though. I’ll leave hunbun to blog it in Inseparable. [EDIT: Tragedy!!!] The next day was our history presentation which us girls dressed up in pink for. In my opinion, we did an okay job of reporting and answering the questions. We did lack time though. That afternoon, I went with hunbun to Megamall and he bought We Love Katamari game for PS2. I do miss shopping so much. *awww* Afterwards, hunbun’s mom treated us to Wansoy!
We also visited their “new” house, which is even closer to mine. Yay! That night I watched a required Jose Rizal movie for history class. *zzz*
Our Ph101 second long test was scheduled for that Friday. I got my lab breaking fee worth Php500+ yay! Steph and I met up with Cla and headed straight to Steph’s apartment along Katipunan. We had lunch first at World Topps and proceeded to discussing the review questions. Our group study session was quite fruitful. I was better prepared for this long test especially because I had already arranged my thoughts into coherent paragraphs. Thankfully, I got the question I already prepared for! Hunbun and I had dinner that night at Cafe Breton. I love that cozy place and their scrumptuous food.
On October 1, 2005, hunbun came over bearing my much-needed philosophy readings. Also, he needed to use my internet since his phoneline was dead. Coincidentally, my cute nephews were here too. Gosh, they really are a handful! Taking care of two boys is hard! The next day was spent in my room studying. *sigh* October 3, 2005 was an extremely stressful day for me. Our history long test was out of this world yet again. We received our score for our history paper and presentation - 25% over 30% - and to think that ours is 7th out of 32. He really does give low marks. Our CS123 third deliverable was due that day too. Last minute bugs are the worst! *lol* JV and I made our defense presentation at his house until 10pm and hunbun was there to pick me up.
I’m happy to say that our defense today went well! Yay!
Wish me luck on my upcoming exam week!

Ahh, so that’s a magic slate. I like that you link places and names and stuff so we’d know more about it. :) A shake-charging flashlight? As in, it charges up when you shake it? That sounds so cool.
I don’t think living in the moon would be very nice. :| But who am I to say anything, for all we know we could be living there some time!
