Eventful January

I spent the first Saturday of the year doing a project. *sigh* We had our Theology group meeting at Seattle’s Best along Katipunan. Our topic was about masturbation - yup, talk about taboos huh? Actually, the members of our groups had an idea clash. Most of us were going for the tried-and-tested video presentation which our conservative teacher obviously likes, while this guy was opting for the Lessig method. I was fine with the minimalist style but I was doubtful if our teacher would like it. Our grade has a “creativity” and “presentation” criteria after all. Anyway, after some thinking I decided to use a hybrid method which would create an interplay of “zen-like” powerpoint slides with video footage. Oh, we presentated the following Thursday, January 12, 2006. Our ice breaker was a capture from There’s Something About Mary followed by the content proper and some interviews. Considering the very crammed time we had, I think we pulled it off. Go teamwork! :bleh:

After that group meeting, hunbun and I had dinner at QC. The next day was hunbun’s mother’s birthday. I was supposed to eat out with them at Spring Deer but I was busy. Not to mention, that’s an extremely icky restaurant. My aunt found worms in the vegetables and something gross in the iced tea. *ewww*

On January 11, 2006, mom and I went to the laboratory to get our chest x-rays. My brother had tuberculosis and we had to get checked up. The results came back negative. Thank God. Then my mom invited me to get a hair cut at Salon de Orient. I liked it. *hehe* Actually, hunbun had his hair cut on the same day.

New Haircut!

I got invited to apply to the ITU Telecom World 2006 Youth Forum on January 12, 2006. It was a 1 in a million chance that I would be selected as the 1 girl from the Philippines to be a participant. But, there’s no harm in trying anyway. So I completed the form and even created an essay on my “Digital Vision”. How geeky!

On January 14, 2006 was the /IT High School Quiz Bee Competition organized by CompSAt. I was the Presentation Head in charge of overseeing the registration, powerpoint slides, score sheets, and certificates. Of course, nothing could have been possible without Steph and Cla. *hehe* The contest went well with a few glitches in spelling mistakes. It reminded me how much I miss being a high school student.

The next day I tagged along to hunbun’s Corregidor fieldtrip. It was extremely tiring! Click the link - pictures say 1000 words. *lol* We ate at Tapa King for dinner. On January 17, 2006, hunbun and I had A Time for Shopping. The next day I attended Procter & Gamble Student Excellence Award (SEA) Launch. I decided to apply since I was invited. *hehe* The day after, mom had a dinner date with Achie Joan (my brother’s ex-fiance). Hunbun and I came along. I really really like her. How I wish she ended up with my brother… Oh, we ate at Zong in The Fort! We waited for a long time but it was extremely worth the wait! The food was absolutely heavenly. *happy yummy sigh*

On January 20, 2006, I attended the Internship 101. Hunbun and I had dinner at QC afterwards. That night we got addicted to the Mensa Intelligence Test. We each got 24 on our own - but figured out 31/33 together. The next day was a day of Running Errands.

We had a Junior’s GA yesterday at SS AVR. It was very informative and I enjoyed listening to the speakers from Accenture, Procter&Gamble, and Shell. Here’s my short cut notes to the presentation.

Happy 2006!

First of all, belated merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone!

My brother finally bought a new digital camera. It’s the Canon IXUS 55 with 5.0 Megapixels and I love it! That’s why this post is a bit overloaded with pictures. *hehe*

Last December 17, 2005, I had lunch with the girls. Jen, Steph, Vassy, and I met at Teriyaki Boy. We caught up on each other’s lives and as usual shared gossip. Talking with them made me realize I really want to go to Beijing for the 6-month crash course on Mandarin. I heard it is an exceptionally good experience and a venue to foster business contacts. Not to mention, it’s a lot of fun especially with friends. *lol*

On December 20, 2005, hunbun and I had merienda at QCSC. The next day, we went to Eastwood for the CompSAt EB dinner at Fazoli’s. I shopped a little and bought cute tops from Plaids and Prints - the clothes there fit me well. We also watched King Kong. It’s a really long and depressing movie. I found that man is really selfish and greedy. Poor King Kong…

Firo-B Grid

Gretch’s Firo-B Grid

Scale:
0-2 Low
3-6 Average
7-9 High

Interpretation:
Inclusion - People Gatherer
Control - Mission Impossible
Affection - Optimist

I really like these psychological profiling. I think my results fit me well. “People Gatherer” means a person who gravitates towards other people. It indicates a problem of aloneness though which I confess to having. I prefer having people around than none. “Mission Impossible” is grabbing a leadership role. I do think that I prefer to have my way rather than other people boss me around. *lol* “Optimist”means having a positive outlook towards affection from and to other people. I’m a very emotional and expressive persion. Well, I’m an optimist in general - at least I’d love to think so.
