End of Semester
I missed all my classes on February 21, 2006. I entered UE’s Inter School Web Design Competition and it lasted the whole day. Joining the contest was actually a split-second decision and I only confirmed the day before. *lol* I felt excited but anxious especially since I’ve never taken any formal web design training. My partner was Diane Gonzales. We had discussed the night before on how we were going to approach the theme of “Scaling Heights Through ICT Education”. We made a preliminary blue and orange airplane design - geared specifically towards children. We did pushed through with that with the 4-hour time limit given to us. The one computer provided to us was quite lacking in my perspective. We encountered some major problems along the way… That is why I was extremely shocked when we won the second place. It was a good kind of shock though and I felt very accomplished. We were awarded medals and some freebies. The pictures below were taken by our coach, Doc Mana.

On February 24, 2006, Philippines was under a state of emergency.
We had no classes that day. Good thing that the WWE Raw Live Tour still pushed through. Hunbun and I parked at Gateway Mall and met up with Bill and his date. Sahia was supposed to come with us but he backet out. We brought some yummy bread at Bread Talk but we sadly we couldn’t bring them inside Araneta Coliseum (The Big Dome). We had good seats, much nearer than we though. Hunbun was right about paying for the wrestler’s entrance.
It was a good show and the audience’s hype was infectious. I’m going to let hunbun blog about the show itself in Inseparable though. We then ate dinner at Burgoo. I was not in a good mood because of unexpected problems with CS154 make-up lab.
I spent the entire next day working on the CS161 Process Control Block project with my groupmates Steph, Allan, Neill, and Elijah. We programmed until midnight. *sigh* (Off-topic) On February 27, 2006, hunbun and I ordered Yellow Cab for merienda. On March 1, 2006, hunbun surprised me with McDonalds’s Hello Kitty Eggs to complete my collection.
They’re so cute!

March 3, 2006 was Marge’s birthday. I was supposed to attend her surprise birthday bash but Steph, Cla, and I were busy with our Ph102 long test. We were all in Steph’s apartment for old times sake.
And I got a B+ for that paper. It’s my first ever B+ for philosophy. Yehey! Afterwards, I met with my Th131 groupmates and went to Faura for the couting of CompSAt election votes. I was #1! Tied with Richard. Hunbun and I went to QC afterwards for dinner. Sadly, the salt and pepper squid which I loved was no longer available. They changed the cooking style.
Then, we went to Greenhills and looked around in Fully Booked. I love bookshops! I impulsively bought 2 books: The Rule of Four and The Historian. I love those types of mystery fiction - extremely great reads! Oh, hunbun and I watched Memoirs of a Geisha. It was very good and I loved their kimonos. *hehe* I plan to read the book version one of these days.
March 4, 2006 was CompSAt’s Loop Back 2 party. It was held at Cervini Hall but sadly not so successful. My theology recollection was held the next day. It was pretty standard aside from my unique lunch. I followed Steph on the way to her house but we ended up eating in Jollibee anyway - even though I brought my own lunch. *hehe* The following day was spent doing our Theology groupwork. During that, I got to catch up with Annika - reminds me how I miss and cherish my high school friends.
And if I remember correctly, hunbun did not have school anymore since seniors’ finished earlier. I treated him to dinner at Dulcinea.
On March 10, 2006, Lihan and Eli had a joint birthday celebration at Fazolli’s in Eastwood. Hunbun and I fetched Steph to go there. We had a good time with everyone.
Then we played some games in PowerStation.

Actually, I was incredibly busy that weekend creating my Electionic Publishing final project. I chose to create an interactive dating magazine entitled “LoveBox”. It turned out really well and really girly in my opinion. *hehe* On March 11, 2006, I went to school for the departmental tour talk for aspiring CS/MIS students-to-be.
On March 13, 2006, mom fetched me from school to go to Robinson’s Galleria. We stopped over at home for lunch. We went there to have a pair of pants exchanged. *lol* Instead, I went home with 2 new pants, 1 white capri, and a denim jacket.
The next day, I got into a state of panic. When I got home I noticed that the cord of my laptop was gone.
I went back to school in a hurry calling a couple of friends on the way. Thankfully I recovered my cord which I left in Faura Steps earlier that day. *sigh* Anyway, I finally got a new USB mouse - I got 2 nice ones actually.
On March 15, 2006, I officially became the new president of CompSAt. The new EB and the elected ones had a deliberation at Shakey’s. Actually, I applied for the position of Secretary-General. I had my reservations about taking the big responsibility. But since we’ve changed the organizational structure and added a new Executive Vice President position whose job is to oversee all the projects, I think I can handle the job.
The next day hunbun and I had merienda at QC.
I had my final Ph102 orals on March 18, 2006 at 5:30pm and we had to come in business attire. This orals was different because we had a freedom to make our own synthesis. I found it a lot easier because I can explain in my own terms and according to how I understood the lessons. I spent the whole day making the essay to present during the orals proper. It was much much better than all previous orals combined. I wish Sir Tolentino was my teacher from the start. I’m sure I would have gotten better grades. *lol* Since I’m writing this much later, I already know the results. I got a B/B+! Yehey!
On March 19, 2006, Neill and I finished our CS23 project. It’s a modified networking and multiplayer blackjack. We finished it early even though we had such a limited time to do it. Good job!
I had to admit though… I feel clearly not adept with C. That night, my whole family was present for Dihia’s birthday. We celebrated at Ishin Teppanyaki.
