The Da Vinci Code

I finished Dan Brown’s masterpiece while doing nothing in the province. We sat for fourteen long hours in the car just to get there and eight hours to get back. Gosh!

Yup! Spoilers Ahead…

This book is absolutely riveting. It is an intelligent fiction based on facts. It has so many unexpected twists and so many intricate codes. The riddles are so well thought-out that the answers the just that appropriate for the topic of the book itself. The Da Vinci Code has opened my mind to a lot of new possibilities, the greatest one being that Jesus had a child with Mary Magdalene and has a bloodline. Also, it specifically mentions faith being a conscious choice, a decision we make on our own. The book speaks of the Nicean Council voting on whether Jesus is divine or not. Imagine that, his divinity is a result of human votes. The book also says that the old church wrote new gospels (in the New Testament) and discarded those that spoke of him being a mortal. Even before I read this book, I had a lot of questions regarding the traditions of the church. This book has partially given me clarity. Look closely at Da Vinci’s The Last Supper and you will see that the person on Jesus’ right is a lady, presumably Mary Magdalene. Hm… And as a self-proclaimed feminist, I am gratified that pagans had “goddess-worship” and had a matriarchal society. Most of all, I am intrigued by so-called secret societies.

Oh, here are some online challenges to crack the Da Vinci code. I found them quite fun and quite an enriching experience.

Make The Quest
Uncover The Code

I also found a cheat. :bleh:

Daet, Here I Come!

I’m going to be gone from tomorrow to Saturday. Hm… I’m expecting to be bored out of my wits  that’s why I’m bringing “Da Vinci Code” with me.

I spent the whole day with Nata. He thought my braces were cute! Yey! *hehe* I love you hunbun! He mashed my food, so that I can eat them - rather, melt them in my mouth. These braces only allow me to eat baby food. (mashed potato with gravy, apple sauce, pudding, jelly, yogurt, soup especially cream of mushroom *yummy*)

Braces Blues

Yikes! My dentist just ’stapped-on’ my new braces. Oww… My teeth hurts so so much! *sigh* I can’t concentrate on anything else.

I just upgraded my computer to Pentium4 and bought a new 40Gig hard drive. I’m too lazy to set up the computer and install the printer, scanner, etc etc right now so I’m using Nata’s laptop. *hehe*

Day Well Spent

Yey! Can’t believe that I finished everything in my itinerary today.

  1. Got my advisement slip at Faura.
  2. Checked the available schedules for summer classes.
  3. Dropped off the cds at Liz’s.
  4. Went to Nicah’s debut planning.
  5. Ate at Jack Loft’s After Six at Eastwood.
  6. Watched Duplex on DVD.

I just had the best mushroom soup of my entire life at Jack Loft’s! Yum! And I hope I can make it to Nicah’s debut on the end of May because my mom’s planning an out-of-town vacation. Hm… Oh yeah, Duplex was okey though I didn’t find it that hilarious like everybody else was saying it was.
