Looking Forward to Weekends

Summer school so far has been okay. It’s turning to out to be more demanding than I expected though. I only have 2 subjects but both of them are keeping me busy. SA21 requires a lot of paperwork and group projects. Good thing I can rely on my responsible groupmates. *hehe* FIS is not that difficult as a class itself actually but my teacher makes the quizzes incredibly hard! Especially with the right minus wrong test types. At least both of my teachers give a lot of freecuts!

My computer suddenly broke down on me a couple of weeks ago. And just when I was getting the ending I wanted with Princess Maker 2. *sigh* I recently got it fixed at PC Express, Gilmore branch. It turns out that the power died and my video card was burned. Of course, I had to have them replaced which cost me quite a bit. Oh well, at least I have my beloved desktop back. But I’m using hunbun’s laptop now since I can access my brother’s wifi through it. Yay for free internet! *heh*

Since hunbun and I are both really busy on weekdays, we make our weekends special. On April 22, 2005, hunbun surprised me with this lovely bouquet of flowers since “he loves me”. *lol* That’s verbatim! He bought the arrangement from Holland Tulips in Podium after he had a dinner out with his officemates. As far as I can remember, this is my first ever bouquet with assorted flowers. *hehe* My boyfriend really does spoil me a lot.

Our 6th love anniversary together fell on a Sunday, April 24, 2005. Yes, we’ve been a couple for 6 whole years now! Time flies so fast when you’re in love. And I can’t imagine anyone more perfect to share the rest of my life with than hunbun. *awww* We spent the day relaxed and just enjoyed our time with each other. About 3 in the afternoon, hunbun came over and gave me a gorgeous bouquet of 3 dozen roses (or 6 half-dozens for our 6 years of love *hehe*). We then headed to the new Gateway Mall which I’ve never been to before. But it was way too crowded for our liking that even its 450 square meter open-air interior garden called “The Oasis” couldn’t convince us otherwise. So hunbun and I opted to go to a Starbucks branch near Greenhills for a snack. We also bought our gift for each other at a Precious Moments store nearby. We added to our collection the “All Girls are Beautiful” figurine set. This includes a Japanese emperor and empress with three flower arrangements. Isn’t it precious?

Before Summer Break

It’s been forever since my last update. More than a month! *eep* I’ve been that busy with school and life. And I’m moving to a new domain soon! I love the new name I chose. I’ll keep you guys updated. Oh, this is going to be a quite a long post, really!

I’ll start with Valentines. This year’s landed on a Monday which is a school night. Coincidentally, hunbun had a long test on that day itself. Cruel, heartless teacher. *hmph* Also, I was a bit sick that time so we decided to have a nice romantic evening and advance celebration on February 13, 2005. He bought me gorgeous flowers, with his signature red roses. He is such a sweetie. *hehe* And I surprised him with a custom made chocolate house! It has 24 edible chocolate hearts inside as a symbol for our anniversary which is on the 24th of April. I ordered it months before as a special request to one of my friends. It was so hard keeping it as a secret from him!

House of Chocolates

We ate at the Tivoli - a “New Asian” fine dining restaurant inside Mandarin Oriental Manila. It’s beautiful inside and the gourmet food was delicious! (Actually, hunbun kept teasing me that we were dining at a pizza parlor. Only because I haven’t been to that restaurant before.) It was service deluxe there. We even had complimentary chocolate desserts on frosted glass with powdered sugar. And the Tivoli gave me a single red rose. How thoughtful!

Valentine Gifts Valentine Flowers

The Celadon annual Valentines rose sale takes place during this love season soo. Hunbun and I co-headed last year’s “Petal Attraction” which was a success. This year’s is entitled “Say It With Roses” and I’m once again a project manager. It’s one of the projects I really enjoy handling. *hehe* We sold roses obviously, teddy bears, stuffed toys, cards, chocolates, and Valentines paraphernalia. I gave hunbun a Humor Post Tatty Bear doll holding six red roses. It now sits with all the other stuffed toys I’ve given him. This year, we had an added gimik which was a voting game. Other Ateneo students had the chance to vote for their favorite “Campus Heartthrobs”, “Valentines Couples”, etc etc - at a price of course. We had a lot of fun with it and earned a good amount of money too! Our harana was also really popular. You can have your special someone serenaded with the song of your choice. I had hunbun serenaded twice with single red roses. Once with “Grow Old With You” and the other with our theme song “At The Beginning”. He, of course, surprise me with an “At The Beginning” harana - which was really unexpected because I was extremely busy that time managing the booth. Due to a slight miscalculation of the amount of roses. In a good way though because too many people ordered. More demand than the actual product itself. But we dealt with the situation well and eventually satisfied all the customers. A job well done!

Birthday Weekend Plus

Wow, I finally have the time to post a new entry. Yay! The last few weeks have been really tiring and stressful. It was one project and midterm and long test after another. But thankfully I got some good grades. I got a perfect score in both my Physics and Math long exams. It’s the first time I got a 100/100 score in Math in college and I’m proud of myself. *hehe* Thank you guys for the very sweet and thoughtful birthday greetings. Much much love especially to Jeanette and Misa for their wonderful gifts. I love them!

I just turned 19 last January 30 but I don’t feel any different. They say that things change when you turn 20. I wonder if that’s true for me. Anyway, I had a wonderful “birthday weekend”. Hunbun went to so much trouble making it special. And he really did make it incredibly memorable. *awwww* On January 29, 2005, we went to Market! Market! in Bonifacio Global City. It was our first time there together. We went to Venice Creations, our favorite jewelry store, to pick out little trinkets for me. Hunbun’s present was jewelry and I got to pick what I want. He got me a bracelet and an anklet. The bracelet is an Italian tri-color with sets of three joined hearts. The anklet has little heart and star charms. They’re so pretty!

That mall is a real shopper’s paradise because there were so many stores! So of course, I couldn’t resist shopping a little and I bought home new clothes. :bleh: Afterwards, we Tokyo Tokyo for an inexpensive lunch. *hehe* That night we had dinner at The Master’s Wok, Podium with my family. My aunt chose the restaurant because it was her birthday that Saturday. For dessert, we went to Goodies and Sweets. Their chocolate decadence is so delicious! Hunbun stayed late at until 12 midnight at my house to be the very first one to wish me a happy birthday. Isn’t he such a sweetie?

On my birthday, I stayed at home doing homework. *sigh* There’s just not end to it. But hunbun suprised me with this gorgeous bouquet of roses! Flowers are a romantic way of saying I love you. <3 We then went to have mass at Mary the Queen Parish. I wanted to give thanks for the countless blessing He had showered upon me.

Many Firsts

Thank you so much for the nice comments on my “Celebration” theme. I appreciate them so much! I made little structural changes in the domain because I rearranged most of the image files for easier referencing. I also added the Image Browser plug-in which works like a charm! I love how I can see all the pictures I have posted in my journal entries. Oh, I joined a new message board: Connective MB. If you decide to join, please write “cherub143″ as your referrer. *hehe* And happy mensary (5 years and 9 months to be exact) to my knight in shining armor, nata. <3

Last January 7, hunbun and I had dinner at Burgoo in Greenhills. We were actually having a hard time choosing a restaurant because it’s our first time in that food strip. Not to mention all the restaurants had very eye-catching interior designs and motif. We ended up in Burgoo because of their promotional gig - free entree for a particular amount of food. And it’s one of our favorite restaurants anyway. :bleh: I ordered my favorite French onion soup and chocolate milkshake. My entree was salmon in cream sauce while hunbun’s was baby back ribs. We had a free appetizer too: gambas (sauteed garlic prawn). After a while, I noticed a big fish bone in my supposedly boneless salmon. *eep* I panicked but good thing I saw it first before swallowing it. It’s the first time I’ve ever complained about the food I ordered. The waiter was really apologetic and management gave us a complimentary chocolate dessert - even though we declined the offer since we were too full already. *hehe* Two free dishes in one sitting. At least we got our money’s worth.

Last week had been very trying for me. *sigh* One unfortunate incident after another. It’s so depressing… Thursday (January 20, 2005) was the pivot day and eventually things finally went upswing from there. My aunt and uncle celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Fernwood Gardens that night. The reception and the programme was really beautiful. My aunt was a ballerina so she danced so gracefully. I especially loved it when they played “Way You Look Tonight”. It’s one of my favorite songs and it has special sentimental meaning since hunbun and I danced it during my 18th debut.

On Friday, hunbun and I shopped a little at Theater Mall after school. Then we went to Dish for “Misaya-Saya 2” featuring the stand-up comedians: Tim Tayag, Philippine Playhouse, and Jon Santos. It’s our first time watching a comedy show and I loved it! It’s such a great way to wind down after such a stressful week. And your mood will instantly be lifted by laughing so hard. I can’t wait for another event like this.
