History
Web designing has always been one of my great loves. My brother introduced me to its art back in grade school. He bought me my very first HTML book and I just fell in love with it. Like most other enthusiasts, I created my first proper website in Geocities. I really regret that I never made an archive. *sigh* It was named “Gretch’s Cybernook”
Pardon the childish title, I was really young then. I also had one named “Gretch.net” *lol* Yes, I am a vain person.
I started keeping an online diary on August 15, 2003. It was hosted by Angelfire and was for my eyes only (a private journal). But I stopped on September 20, 2003 since my life got too busy and hectic. On February 16, 2004, almost five months later, I got inspired by the uber wonderful Tabulas that gave me creative freedom to express myself, not to mention the journal, photogallery, and content pages all for free! I still update it regularly but mostly as a quiz blog. :)
My hunbun Nata bought me Cherub-Wings.net on April 13, 2004. He’s so sweet! It was my very first domain and hosted on a reseller by Cheap Web Hosting Plans: Protagonist WebHosting Solutions. After a year, I decided that I needed a change in domain names. I wanted something shorter and more lady-like. I came up with Cherubelle.net, still keeping the .net extension since I have an affinity with it. I fell in love with the name “Cherubelle”.
It sounds so sweet and lovely. Cherub, of course, is my online nickname and it’s a must as a part of my domain name. I appended the word “belle” since it means “a beautiful, young woman”. In French, it means beautiful. I registered it on March 22, 2005.
For my online journal, I used to have it on a subdomain. It was entitled “Forever Gretch”. Following is the explanation I wrote: I’ve always signed my name with Forever Gretch. I knew it would be the perfect title for my journal since it is distinctively mine, something that is my own. Forever \for*ev”er\ means through eternity, through endless ages, eternally, at all time, always. I love the concept of forever and it has always been one of my favorite words. Since I moved here, I wanted to integrate my journal with the rest of my domain. One of the reasons is that people always assumed that I was hosted on another person’s domain.
And with Cherub-Wings.net, I never got around to putting up real content. I also find that it is easier to have WordPress act as my content management system too.
Site
Here are the ins and outs of the domain. This section includes the site themes - past and present, the memberships I belong to, and the error pages. The site map is also available here to facilitate all navigational needs.
Linkages
Thank you to everything and everything that made Cherubelle possible. Here are the sites worthy of credits, the list of WordPress plug-ins, links to me and my friends.
